CEN/CENELEC Workshop Agreement

Scope

This CEN Workshop Agreement (CWA) provides summaries of a number of frameworks, architectures and models that are in currently available within the sphere of activity known as electronic commerce. The Introduction provides some working definitions of 'electronic commerce' which were used to provide approximate bounds on what to include and what to exclude. The main criteria for inclusion within the approximate bounds were:
· The source material is openly available,
· The framework / architecture / model has market support in terms of implementation or evidence of likely implementation in the near future.

However, it needs to be recognised that:
· This document does not provide an exhaustive coverage of all the existing or emerging frameworks / architectures / models which meet the above criteria,
· There are varying degrees of market acceptance and expectations in respect of the individual frameworks / architectures / models which are covered,
· The individual frameworks / architectures / models which are covered originate from a variety of sources, including standardization bodies, industry consortia and private organisations,
· This CWA seeks to adopt a balanced approach to coverage - the inclusion (or otherwise) of individual frameworks / architectures / models does not imply endorsement by the CEN/ISSS Electronic Commerce Workshop.
