Scope

This document gives an alternative method for the design of hollow section joints to the "classical
method" of hollow joint design as given in chapter 7 of EN 1993-1-8. This is a new method developed
by CIDECT where the current hollow section joint rules in chapter 7 of EC3-1-8 are transferred to a
component method for hollow section joints covering therefore the same scope.
