Nanotechnologies - Suitability of particle size and surface area measurement methods for the assessment of the amount of nano-objects in a sample

Scope

This Technical Report details the suitability of particle size and surface area measurement methods for the assessment of the percentage amount of nano-objects in a sample. It is applicable to particle size analysis in the size range of 1 nm to 10 μm. The evaluation of these techniques with respect to accurately measure the numberweighted median size of individual/constituent particles is detailed. It provides a survey on existing standards, guidance documents and scientific papers.
