Road transport and traffic telematics - Automatic vehicle and equipment identification - Interfaces (ISO/DTS 17264:2006)

Scope

The document covers communication links in general, i.e. air interface between transponders and readers, and fixed interface between readers and central systems. The document specifies important basic requirements on the RF link that are unique to intermodal AVI/AEI systems. This will be put forward as a recommendation to the relevant group(s) handling the issuing of the basic radio standards. Current link standards/systems will be included for compatibility and upgradeability. Basic requirements are:
- To achieve interoperability between AVI systems for different transport
modes as close to the air interface as possible
- To avoid possibilities of interference between the air interfaces of AVI
systems for different transport modes.
