Scope

The aim of the Chemistry Control Performance Indicator (CCPI) is to assess the effectiveness of chemistry control in pressurized water reactor (PWR) nuclear power plants. This evaluation is based on monthly and single fuel cycle scores calculated from the control of core chemistry parameters within the plant. The CCPI aids in evaluating the performance of chemistry control systems and their impact on safeguarding critical assets and ensuring efficient long-term plant operations. It is designed to guide management, operational, engineering and maintenance teams in identifying key areas for improvement. It ensures not only compliance with safety standards but also the maintenance of optimal performance throughout the plant's lifespan through benchmarking. Additionally, the standard outlines a clear methodology for calculating lost scores in each area and tracking these scores either monthly or over a single fuel cycle.
