Integration of nature and biodiversity in building design - General principles ISO/PWI 22094

Scope

Sustainability and health aspects are mentioned in the process described in the document ISO 16813, Building environment design — Indoor environment - General principles. ISO/TC 205/WG 7 will make a new standard for user well-being and satisfaction through outcome-based building design. The document may also specify nature and biodiversity imperatives that the design team shall take into account at each stage of the project according to the flow chart in Annex A of ISO 16813. This International Standard is applicable to building environment design for new construction and retrofit of existing buildings. In order to improve the application of the standard, it is necessary to define environmental, economic and social aspects in ISO/TC 205/WG 7 and to define for each phase of the project the issues and responses on these areas of concern with a particular emphasis on user satisfaction based on post-occupancy evaluations.
