Scope

This document specifies the Latin characters for Tibetan transliteration and the corresponding transliteration
rules. It is applicable to the mutual transliteration and back-transliteration between Tibetan scripts and Latin
characters in Tibetan text and information processing, and may also serve as a reference for the teaching and
research of the Tibetan language.
