Scope

This proposal specifies an inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometric method (ICP-OES) for the simultaneous determination of 11 alloying and impurity elements in magnesium and magnesium alloys, including silver (Ag), aluminum (Al), calcium (Ca), chromium (Cr), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), sodium (Na), nickel (Ni), strontium (Sr), zinc (Zn) and zirconium (Zr).
This method is applicable to the mass fraction ranges of the elements in magnesium and magnesium alloys given in Table 1:
