Scope

Specifies requirements (static conformance requirements, dynamic conformance requirements and, in annex A, a list of ISPICS requirements) independent of the type of subnetwork and applicable to interworking units operating, in the open systems interconnection (OSI) local area network environment, the MAC service regardless of the types of subnetworks to which they are attached.
