Natural fibres for reinforcement — Designation system for kenaf fibres ISO/CD 26321

Scope

This document establishes a designation system for kenaf fibres used for reinforcement in polymer composites.
･Kenaf fibres are differentiated by a designation system based on appropriate levels of the designatory properties.
a)       Tensile strength
b)       Young's modulus
c)        Elongation at break
 
Note 1: One to five designatory properties that differentiate kenaf fibres from each other are assigned.
･It is not intended to imply that kenaf fibres having the same designation will give the same performance. This document does not provide engineering data or processing parameters needed for specific applications.
･In order to specify kenaf fibres for a particular application, additional requirements can be given in the optional data block 5.
