Scope

The Standard specifies the following characteristics of the oil. Appearance: Liquid. Colour: Almost colourless to amber yellow. Odour: Characteristic, herbal, minty. Relative density at 20/20 °C: 0,930 - 0,944. Refractive index at 20 °C: 1,4800 - 1,4900. Optical rotation at 20 °C: Range from + 15 to + 24 . Miscibility with 70 % (V/V) ethanol at 20 °C: 1 : 3: Carbonyl value: Minimum 295 Äcorresponding to 80 % of carbonyl compounds of relative molecular mass M r = 152,2Ü.
