This future standard will specify a method for the determination of selected alkyl phenols (octyl- and nonyl phenols) in non-filtered samples from drinking water, ground water and surface water in a concentration range from 0,005 µg/l to 0,2 µg/l. The method includes a liquid liquid extraction and gas chromatography. Depending on the matrix, the method is as well applicable to waste water in a concentration range from 0,1 µg/l to 50 µg/l. Higher concentrations may be measured after appropriate dilution of the sample. The exact application range will be checked in an interlaboratory trial.
