Scope

This standard covers a list of standard terms for parts and assemblies of mechanical structures for electronic equipment - They are common to various types of mechnical structures, but most of them are derived from IEC Publications 297-1, 297-2 and 297-3 - Illustrations are added in the list of terms when appropriate to support correct term usage - Where a term is self-explanatory no definition is given, for instance "front panel" - The same applies for terms already defined in IEC Publication 50
