Scope

This clause of Part 1 is applicable except as follows: This standard applies to range hoods incorporating electrical equipment such as fans, lamps and controls, intended for mounting above household cooking ranges, ovens and similar cooking appliances - This standard does not apply to range hoods for industrial purposes or for use in locations where a corrosive or explosive atmosphere may be present - For range hoods intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft additional requirements may be necessary - For rangehoods intended to be used in tropical countries special requirements may be necessary - Attention is drawn to the fact that additional requirements may be specified by the national health authorities and the national authorities responsible for the protection of labour
