Scope

This clause of Part 1 is applicable except as follows: This standard applies to radiation appliances for skin treatement provided with ultra-violet or infra-red emitters or a combination thereof for household use. This standard does not apply to: - Appliances for medical purposes - Ultra-violet, infra-red or radiant heat baths or tunnels of the bed-cradle type. For appliances intended to be used in tropical countries, special requirements may be necessary. Attention is drawn to the fact that in many countries, additional requirements are specified by the national health authorities and other national authorities responsible for safety in the home
