Scope

This clause of Part 1 is applicable except as follows: Replacement: This standard applies to spin extractors with a load capacity not exceeding 10 kg of dry textile material and a container peripheral speed not exceeding 50 m/s - The limit of the load capacity does not apply to spin extractors incorporated in washing machines - Spin extractors not intended for normal household use, but which nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public, such as spin extractors for communal use in blocks of flats or in loundrettes, are within the scope of this standard - This standard does not apply to spin extractors for commercial laundries - For appliances intended to be used in vehicles or non board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary - For appliances intended to be used in tropical countries, special requirements may be necessary - Attention is drawn to the fact that in many countries additional requirements are specified by the national health authorities and the national authorities responsible for the protection of labour
