Scope

This International standard defines an exchange file format that will be populated with data according to entity definitions defined by an EXPRESS information model. The file format is designed for efficient and effective interchange of data between computer systems. It is not designed for the purpose of general processing by product data applications. it does not support any type of database implementation of an EXPRESS model. There is an ability to introduce user-defined data.
