Scope

This European Prestandard specifies a laboratory method of determining the conventional assembly time for adhesives for load bearing timber structures under specified conditions.
This test method is not intended for use with adhesive systems in which the components are separately and sequentially applied to the substrate.
This prestandard is only intended for obtaining a reliable base of comparison between similar adhesives. The method gives result which cannot be applied to the safe manufacture of timber structures without modifications for the influences of timber density/absorbency, moisture content, factory temperature and relative air humidity.
