This standard addresses the definition and structuring of information that is communicated or referred to in communication between application entities. Within the scope of this standard is : - the interchange of Vital Signs Information between individual devices and between devices and the departmental processing system within the acute care setting; and, - data acquisition, archival and the exchange of archived data on storage media or via networks, e.g. in the electrophysiology sleep laboratory setting.
