Scope

Standardized procedures for the determination of the presence of substances in electrical and electronic equipment, apparatus and systems are critical for companies and authorities for ensuring that products that are placed in the market are safe and do not imply any chemical risk for persons or the environment. Some of the standards support the application of the EU Directive 2011/65/EU on Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (recast).
The target users are Producers of electrotechnical products, Testing houses (more than 100 in Europe) and Market Surveillance and Enforcement authorities.
