This European Standard refers to self-contained closed-circuit breathing apparatus, compressed oxygen type, for escape (in short: compressed oxygen escape apparatus). This standard does not apply to apparatus for work and rescue nor for diving devices. It specifies the minimum requirements for compressed oxygen escape apparatus. Laboratory and practical performance tests are included for the assessment of compliance with the requirements.
