Guidelines to establish the carbon bill of the refurbishment of buildings

Scope

This document defines the carbon bill (CB) of a building based on the global warming potential calculated according to EN 15978. The CB of a refurbishment compares the situation of the refurbished building and the situation without the refurbishment.
NOTE This document is based on the draft FprEN 15978:2025 (WI 00350041), which should be available as EN 15978:2025 in December 2025. However, the approach is considered valid for the previous version, EN 15978:2011.
