Scope

This Part of this CEN Workshop Agreement describes a procedure for evaluating the uncertainty in tensile test results obtained from tests at ambient or elevated temperature, carried out in accordance with current test standards (see Bibliography).
This method is restricted to tests performed at ambient and elevated temperatures under axial loading conditions with a digital acquisition of force and displacement. The tests are assumed to run continuously without interruptions on pieces that have uniform gauge lengths.
NOTE Annex C of this document gives for information an indication of the typical scatter in tensile test results for a variety of materials that have been reported during laboratory inter-comparison exercises.
