The European Mandate, M470 of the Commission is asking for test methods for determining losses and efficiency classes of converter-fed motors. It was planned that IEC 60034-2-3 could be the standard to specific the test methods. Due to insufficient consensus the relevant WG in IEC decided to publish it as IEC/TS instead of IEC standard. In November 2013 CLC/TC2 launched a new Working Group for collecting experiences and improving the measurement conditions of IEC/TS 60034-2-3 according to new future standard 60034-30-2 on “Efficiency classes of variable speed AC motors”
