Technical requirements for current collectors for ground-level feeding system on road vehicles in operation CLC/prTS 50XXX

Scope

This Technical Specification specifies the general characteristics which are to be applied to on-board current collector devices, to enable dynamic current collection of road vehicles from the ground feeding system.

It defines:
- the interfaces between the road infrastructure and the vehicle.
- Requirements for an electrical safety concept that is related to both electric vehicle and the power supply infrastructure.

It also specifies the requested tests for on-board current collector device and gives recommendations for their maintenance.

This Technical Specification is applicable to:
- current collectors on road vehicles during operation on electrified public roads and highways;
- current collectors on electric busses during operation on electrified public roads and highways;

This Technical Specification is not applicable to:
- commercial freight vehicles or electric busses with static only charging systems at e. g. loading/unloading facilities, bus stops;
- energy metering devices on-board the electric vehicle.
