The purpose of this item is to develop a standard for accountability mechanisms for healthcare information system (HCIS) that operate on medical records. After first concentrating on establishing what information should be c collected to insure a minimal level of accountability in HCIS, further examination should indicate how accountability information is collected, stored, maintained and used in manual healthcare information systems.
