Scope

This document intends to cover testing and commissioning of platform barrier systems and is applicable to all systems covered by the scope of EN 17168-1. This document aims at describing what are the tests and principles to follow for testing such platform barrier systems and for their commissioning.
This document provides the description of the related test plan and the different type of tests to be conducted (or that are recommended) to ensure compliance with requirements and recommendations of EN 17168-1.
The different tests that are developed in this document are the:
- type tests to apply in order to prove relevant elements of the design of platform barrier systems,
- routine tests to prove their manufacturing quality for achieving specified performances,
- functional tests for checking the correct operation of installed platform barrier systems,
- integration tests for checking their correct operation in conjunction with the transportation system using such platform barrier systems.
The different means of qualification of PBS (including simulation) are covered in this document.
