Scope

Railway air conditioning systems are used for the air conditioning of driver and passenger compartments. In normal operation as intended, the air conditioning system heats, cools and ventilates the driver's and/or passenger compartment in accordance with the specified requirements for air conditioning, and the air conditioning system.
This document specifies procedures for the detection and assessment of hazards due to leaks in refrigeration circuits with flammable refrigerants that can occur during operational use, as a result of mishandling, technical defect or accidental events. This document is valid for the risk assessment and proposes also potential risks mitigation measures for HVAC-system with flammable refrigerant. If the HVAC system has interfaces to further cooling/heating applications, further requirements may apply.
