Scope

This document establishes general principles for the collecting, handling, sorting and storing of used textile products and textile waste, to facilitate that textiles can be reused, repaired, refurbished, remanufactured or recycled according to the waste hierarchy. The purpose is to ensure the highest quality possible of the output after processing.
This document is applicable for industry professionals throughout the textile value chain, such as textile producers, importers and retailers, second hand actors, organizations active in the collecting, handling, sorting, storing, re-using and recycling of used textile products and textile waste, as well as other stakeholders such as municipalities, legislators and the general public.
