Children’s furniture – Tables – Safety requirements and test methods cen:proj:81825

Scope

This European Standard specifies the safety requirements and test methods for all types of tables intended to be used by children.
It applies to tables intended to be placed on the floor for domestic and non-domestic use including in day care centres and for indoor and outdoor use.
It does not apply to tables for use in educational institutions including early years education settings for which other European Standards exist.
It does not apply to tables intended for medical purposes.
It applies to the function as a table only. If a table has several functions, or can be converted to another function, other relevant standards might apply.
It does not include requirements for electrical safety
It does not include requirements for the resistance to ageing and degradations.
Note: for the purpose of this document, desks are considered to be tables
