Scope

This document specifies a test method to asses the resistance to permeation of chemical contaminants through the wall of PE multilayer pipes.
It is applicable for multilayer barrier pipes with an inner layer made of PE and a barrier layer made of polymer.
Note 1 PE material as specified in EN 12201-1|
In this document the test method for determination of the permeation rate of the material of the barrier layer is specified.
The calculation method for the permeation rate of the specific pipe construction is provided.
In this document, the integrity of the barrier layer of the pipe is assessed with and without bending, by confirming the permeation resistance of the pipe.
