This International Standard specifies the characteristics of software and functions used in Building automation and control systems for Total Building Management as well as a method for documentation of the design. It gives guidelines for the engineering.

Revise Part 3, Functions, in line with
- updated Part 1, Project specification and implementation
- update of Part 2, Hardware
- new Part 4, Application functions
for consistency with these parts.
