Ventilation for buildings – Environmental product declarations – Product Category rules complementary to EN 15804 for ventilation components

Scope

This overarching part of the standard series provides the complementary product category rules (c-PCR) to EN 15804 for ventilation components and products used for integrated ventilation systems in buildings.

This document covers the minimum product stages from cradle to gate (modules A1 to A3), along with modules C1 to C4 and module D, to be declared for the default type of EPD.

Subsequent parts of this series may contain product-specific provisions covering additional modules not declared in this overarching part, such as modules A4, A5 and/or B1 to B7.

This standard provides further guidance on interactions between EN 15804 and EN IEC 63366, Product category rules for life cycle assessment of electrical and electronic products and systems, and other compatible standards, to enable consistent requirements and comparable results in all stages.

This standard is not applicable for the following products used in ventilation systems as long as the applicable product standards do not explicitly refer to this document:
 Air filters
 Smoke control dampers
 Fire dampers
 EX fans
 Smoke control fans
 Embedded fans
 Multi-functional Residential Ventilation Units (RVU) with integrated heat pumps
 DX Fan coils
