Technical Specification
This European Technical Specification will lay down the technical requirements for an E10+ fuel specification. From previous TF meetings it appeared that a majority of experts supported an 3,7-8,0% m/m oxygen content and 10-20- % v/v ethanol content range.
A table of requirements and test methods will be added to the specification, with the same properties as in EN 228. Some property limits will be retained, and some limits will change based on the discussion in the TF E10+ and WG21.
Additional parameters as compared to the current EN 228 specification will be considered. Because water has an influence on corrosion, the TF E10+ / WG21 already agreed that a maximum water content of 2000 ppm / 0,2% m/m will be added to the table of requirements. A possible limit for C9/C10+ aromatics is also being discussed. This topic will be covered in WG21 (as part of the EN 228 revision), but the TF E10+ might prepare a proposal for WG21.
