Scope

This European standard specifies the characteristics and performance requirements for brick slips, made from baked clay or clay-like material, for which the intended use is as a hard covering of walls and ceilings and this for interior and exterior outdoor applications.

It defines the performance related to, e.g. dimensional tolerances, the physical and mechanical properties and durability, measured according to the test methods contained in separate European Standards.

This European standard does not specify standard sizes for brick slips, nor does it specify standard manufacturing dimensions for specials. This document does not contain any measurement methods, tolerance and size range requirements for the dimensions of specials.

This standard applies to brick slips, fired clay or clay-like material for which EN 14411 is not applicable
