Scope

This document specifies the essential characteristics of outer wall elements made of the mineral
materials concrete, autoclaved aerated concrete, ceramic, expanded perlite (EP), expanded
vermiculite (EV) and fibre silicate plates and their fittings, which are tested with flue liners and intended to be used in combination with flue liners in multi-wall chimneys.
This document applies to outer wall elements with solid walls or walls with vertical perforations (see
Figure 1) which have square, rectangular or circular cross-sections. This document also applies to outer
wall elements with factory made surface treatment (e.g. slurry and filler).
This document also applies to factory jointed outer wall elements made of L- or U-shaped components.
This document specifies procedures for the testing, marking and assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP) of characteristics of the outer wall elements and their fittings.
This document applies to outer wall elements having one or more shafts designated to accommodate a
combination of flue liners and/or ventilation passages.
This document does not apply to storey-height or reinforced outer wall elements.
