Design rules for composite columns comprising high performance materials

Scope

EN 1994 currently covers a broad range of composite (steel-concrete) columns, adopting carbon steel in grades up to S460 and concrete up to C50/60. Rules are given for analysis, verification, shear transfer and load introduction, and detailing.

The scope of the proposed TS will effectively extend these rules for analysis, verification etc so they cover higher strength carbon steels, and stainless steels.
