Scope

This Technical Specification specifies large stones for civil engineering work.
The CEN mandate covers civil engineering work. But the current version of EN 13383-1 doesn't cover this application. Test methods for physical properties are partially available in EN 13383-2.
Concerning geo-metrical requirements the current test methods of EN 13383-2 are not applicable and new methods must be established.
The TS describes which test methods of EN 13383-2 are applicable for large stones.
Guidance on the use of large stones is given in Annex A
