This standard specifies the method for determining the racking load which a window is capable of supporting. The load shall be applied to opening casements or sashes. Any secondary moving sashes or casements, which may be mounted internally to the main casements or sashes, shall also be similarly tested. In this standard it is considered that stress is induced in other in other ancillary items, such as hinges, stays and mechanisms of various sorts, via moving casement.
