CEN/TC 431 Service Chain for Social Care Alarms

Technical Specification

Scope

The main part of this document contains the presentation of terms, definitions and abbreviations relevant for and used in the service chain for social care alarms. In order to increase understanding, various use cases are produced/written and presented in an Annex. These use cases provide examples of the terms and definitions in their relevant context.

This document is a guidance document for other CEN/TC 431 standards as well as a document that gives the stakeholders the understanding of a common language around the services within the service chain for social care alarms.

There are a large number of existing service models across Europe for the design and delivery of care and support services for persons mediated through technology such as social care alarms (e.g. telecare). Discussion of good practice is hindered by the lack of commonly shared and understood language and terms for these technology mediated services. A common and standardized terminology is needed.

This document will be one part of the foundation for the standardization work in CEN/TC 431 Service chain for social care alarms.
