Scope

This European Standard specifies product characteristics for fittings made of malleable cast iron for pressure applications for water supply, irrigation, fire fighting, fuels, oils, compressed air and gases as well as for any other pressure application in which other liquids are conveyed with the exception of water intended for humanconsumption.
Pipes and fittings covered by this European Standard are intended to be used for buried or above-ground conveyance for both outside and inside buildings.
Joints are made with jointing threads in accordance with EN 10226-1 and EN 10226-2 or compression joints.
It gives the associated test/assessment methods.
This European Standard does not cover valves, adhesives, joint sealings and gaskets.
