Scope

This European Standard specifies a method for evaluating the size weighted potential respirable fraction (SWeRF) in terms of weight percent in bulk materials. This method expresses the relative content of particles in bulk materials that, based on particle size, should be considered respirable when they would become airborne.
This European Standard also describes a method to evaluate the content of potential respirable crystalline silica particles in bulk materials, based on the SWeRF method.
