Stationary source emissions - Method to measure specifically gaseous hydrogen chloride (HCl) concentrations in waste gases of industrial installations by means of an automated method using infra-red techniques

Scope

This standard specifies the method used for determining the content of HCl in the atmospheric emissions stemming from ducts and (chimney) stacks, by means of an automatic measuring system with an extractive sampling device. This standard can be used as a Reference Method (SRM) as regards periodic monitoring and calibration or control of Automatic Measuring Systems (AMS) permanently installed on a stack, for example for regulatory purposes or other.
The target for overall uncertainty is 20 % of the daily limit value.
This measurement method should apply for the following measured concentrations: for HCl as from 0,5 mg/m-3.
