Ambient air - Standard method for the determination of the concentration of volatile ydrocarbon ozone precursors by on-line sampling, thermal desorption and gas chromatography

Scope

This CEN Standard describes a measurement method for the determination of short-term (e.g. hourly) average concentrations of volatile organic non-methane hydrocarbon ozone precursors in ambient air, which can be used in support of the Air Quality Directive 2008/50/EC.
The measurement method is based on on-line pumped sampling of the components onto a suitable series of sorbents, followed by thermal desorption and analysis by gas chromatography. The method is automated continuous.
