The photometry of LED Modules and luminaires equipped with LED modules

Scope

This document specifies requirements on photometric measurements of LED modules and LED luminaires.
Justification and Purpose:
LED lighting is a new technology which is increasingly used as it offers high energy saving potentials and long life expectations. However the classical methods used for the photometry of luminaires equipped with classical electrical light sources do not apply and specific methods have to be applied. The proper quality evaluation of these products become urgent as more and more LEDs luminaires are coming on the market while complaints are increasing that a number of installations does not fullfill expectations.
