CEN/TC 339 Slip resistance of pedestrian surfaces - Methods of evaluation

Technical Specification

Scope

This document is intended to specify a test method for the determination of the slip resistance of floorings in the most commonly encountered situations in which pedestrians walk using the ramp test using slider 96, footwear and water as contaminant. It is intended to substitute one or more methods given in the CEN/TS which is currently prepared as WI 00339004. The ramp test given in WI 00339004 is using a lubricant as contaminant. To replace the lubricant by water would be reasonable. This Technical Specification will not cover sports surfaces and road surfaces for vehicles (skid resistance).
