Sustainably produced biomass for energy applications - Principles, criteria, indicators and verifiers for biofuels and bioliquids - Part x Biodiversity

Scope

This standard specifies requirements relevant to biodiversity and related aspects (for example landscape and ecosystem services) for sustainably produced biomass for energy applications.
This standard is applicable to direct conformity assessment and conformity assessment of other certification systems. To that end this standard:
(i) establishes "principles, criteria, indicators, verifiers and associated guidance to assess the compliance of sustainable biomass production and processing;
(ii) establishes guidelines for assessing the equivalence of the requirements of certification systems with regard to biodiversity and related issues.
This standard is applicable to, at least but not limited to, biomass from forestry and agriculture.
