Scope

The standard provides guidance for the calculation of GHG emissions related to the production, processing and transport of biomass for energy applications. It presents detailed calculation methods for each step of the chain and define appropriate fossil fuel references for each type of biofuels (liquid, gaseous or solid). The standard does not provide for the evaluation of the GHG savings achievable through a use of particular biomass for energy. Criteria for cost-effectiveness are not included
