Scope

This work item will provide procedures for performing risk assessments on Healthcare Information Systems that take into account direct threats to patient safety and indirect threats that may follow from a breach in system security. In respect of safety this will include threats to the integrity of system operation (e.g. developmental flaws), continuity of service (e.g. reliability and capacity) and data validation (e.g. binding to patient identity and data credibility). In respect of security this will include in-service threats to system and information integrity and availability (e.g. malicious code).
