Scope

This standard will specify the basic feature of the traveller interfaces with the various functions of an Automatic Ticket Vending Machine (ATVM) and the sequence of actions to be taken by a traveller. Particular attention will be given to the general layout of the machines taking into account ergonomic principles and the special needs of disable people.
An ATVM is a fixed or mobile (onboard the public transport Vehicle) machine which is operated by a passenger, without the assistance of a human operator, in order to issue, update (or recharge) or check the content of ticket through an automatic transaction. This transaction may be composed of different phases and may imply a payment and the emission of associated receipt of vouchers.
